Robert Michael Smiley was born March 14, 1946 at Cape Girardeau, Missouri the son of Robert Lester and Dorothy Fay ( Mallory) Smiley and passed away on September 15, 2016 at Cape Girardeau at the age of 70 years.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents.
He married Kathleen A. (Lee) Smiley on September 24, 1977 at St. Louis, Missouri.
Michael is survived by his wife Kathleen, daughters Amanda M. Thornton of North Carolina and Leslie L. Smiley of St. Louis. Two (2) brothers James Smiley & Gregory Smiley both of Rockview, Missouri. Seven (7) sisters Glenda Cassot of Scott City, Mo., Donna Carlson of Everett, Washington, Susan Myers of Bourne, TX., Rita Hicks of Rockview, Mo., Sharon Hargrove of Chaffee, Mo., Sandy Pirtle of Scott City. Mo., & Janice Eldridge of Chaffee, Mo. Also Seven (7) grandchildren.
Michael enjoyed fishing and was a U.S. Army veteran receiving the National Defense Medal, Expert Rifleman & Good Conduct Medal
