Rosemary Kelley was born September 6, 1922 at Springerton, Illinois the daughter of Edgar E. & Nellie E. (Gowdy) Gullic and passed away on November 16, 2012 at Fredericktown at the age of 90 years.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roger Kelley whom she married on June 3, 1945 at McLeansboro, Illinois.
Rosemary is survived by her daughters Karen Jones (John) of Farmington, Kayda Thompson of Fredericktown, & Kathy Kemp (Gene) of Garden Grove, California. She is also survived by Five (5) grandchildren and Six (6) great grandchildren.
Rosemary and Roger moved to Fredericktown from Benton, Illinois, with daughters Karen & Kayda in 1956. Essie Kelley, Roger's mother came with them. They chose Fredericktown to start their own business, Kelley's Jewelry. The first store was next to the Carlton's Café. In 1958, their third daughter, Kathy was born.
In 1961, the store was doing well, so they moved up to East Main Street, The store was next to the Dicus Drug Store. In1966, they moved again to the store's present location.
Rosemary and Roger were both active in the community. Rosemary with the PTA and Quest Club. Roger with Lion's Club. Both were active members of the Methodist Church and sang in the choir. And being quite a good cook, Rosemary helped prepare the meals for the Methodist Men's Club at the church. And she still worked and stayed busy with her own occupation as a beautician.
Rosemary was of the Methodist Faith, and an avid bowler for many years, a quilter and hair dresser to many.
