Ruby Marcella Abernathy Montgomery was born September 14, 1916 in the small town of Gravelton, Missouri to James Milton & Emma and Emma Johnson Abernathy. She was married to Clecy L. Montgomery on december 16, 1939. He preceded her in death on January 15, 1989. Surviving are on daughter Glenda Jane Montgomery Steele, son-in-law Robert E. Steele,she was a loving grandmother to Cynthia Steele, Robert and (Nancy) Steele. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and two dear sister-in-laws. Four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
She was aloving, soft-hearted individual. she cared about the needs of others and would share anything she had if they were in need. She would never be "rich" in worldly terms, but would always be truly rich. She lived the past 15 years of her life at Gambrill Gardens. She was very happy there and over the years made many friends.
Today she is in heaven while we remain. We will miss her more than words can say, but we know we will see her again when we meet in heaven.
We would like to thank all of her friends and family who kept her in their prayers and gave their expressions of love. Also to pastor Ron Schuette and Rev. Royal Gunter who was so faithful with their visits and the support of their prayers. To my friend Bev. Troester who came to sit with me during this difficult time. to Gambrill Gardens for providing her with a wonderful place to live for 15 years. She loved it dearly. To the staff at Bethesda Meadows for providing her with gentle and kind care the past few years.
