S. Clyde Hovis passed away December 23, 2024, at Willis Knighton Hospital in Bossier City, LA. He was born September 14, 1922, at Twelve Mile, MO. He married Angeline (Angie) Gentges June 22, 1951.
He was an employee of Jefferson Barracks VA Hospital in St. Louis, MO until his retirement. He was a WW II Air Corp veteran.
He was very active and enjoyed traveling, woodworking and talking with people up until his death. He liked to go south in the winters to warmer climates.
Preceding Clyde in death were his parents, Benjamin (Bennie) Monroe Hovis and Serepta Susan Sanders Hovis, sisters Rose Marie Hovis and Mary Maxine (Glenwood) French, Wife Angie and son, James Paul Hovis. Those surviving are two daughters Mary Ann Susan (Richard) McAfee, Fredericktown, MO, Shirley May (Ronnie) Maum, Haughton, LA, Grandson Michael Dean Goldsberry (Meghan) Springfield, TN and granddaughter Sue Ann Maria (Nickolas) Cochran (Suttgartt,Germany), two special great granddaughters Kalynn Taylor McClain and Jayde Amberlee McClain, and numerous nieces and nephews and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Follis Funeral Home in Fredericktown, MO December 29, 2024. Burial will be at Mt Pisgah Cemetery December 30, 2024.
