Shirley J. Whitener was born November 27, 1937 at Zion, Missouri the daughter of Odus F. and Jewell I. (Kemp) Cloninger, and passed away on December 9, 2020 at her daughters' home in St. Charles, Missouri at the age of 83 years.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold Whitener who she married on October 9, 1954 at Zion, Missouri, a son Rick Whitener, a brother Dennis Cloninger, a sister Mae Cloninger Ward and granddaughter Caitlin Whitener.

She is survived by Three (3) sons Steve Whitener, Michael Whitener and Mark Whitener, Two (2) daughters Kathy Whitener Cooper and Tracy Whitener Simpson. One (1) adopted daughter Tracy Francis. Eight (8) grandchildren Kourtney Hasec, Kyley Huntleigh, Clay Whitener, Taylor Whitener, Sean Simpson, Stephanie Simpson, Elaina Simpson, Ethan Simpson and eight (8) great grandchildren Dion Henegar, Jason Whitener, Aaron Whitener, Peyton Whitener, Ethan Whitener Laila Huntleigh  Quinn Huntleigh, and Warner Mc Glaughlin.

Shirley was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed genealogy.
