Truman Lee Jones, 82, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026.
He was born on April 4, 1944, in Ironton, Missouri, to Orville Biffle Jones and Wilma Ada Jones. Truman graduated from Fredericktown High School before proudly serving four years in the United States Air Force while stationed in Turkey.
Following his military service, Truman earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southeast Missouri State University and later received his MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He spent his professional career in manufacturing management, working for Chesebrough-Ponds, Inc., Reckitt & Colman, and Bath & Body Works.
On August 10, 1967, Truman married the love of his life, Freida Kay (Robertson) Jones. Together they shared 58 years of marriage and built a family that brought him tremendous pride and joy.
He is survived by his wife, Freida; his children, Bradley Truman Jones and daughter-in-law Deanna Jones, and Brandon Lee Jones; his six beloved grandchildren, Ella, Josiah, Grayson, Jairus, Joelle, and Justus; and his siblings, Karen Tripp, Dean Jones and wife Marcy, and Connie Huffman and husband Kim.
Truman was a gifted writer and author of "Searching for Me," a collection of stories, poems, and letters written throughout his life. Everyone who met him considered him a world-class joke teller. He had an incredible wit and an unbelievable ability to remember thousands of jokes, always ready with one that could make family, friends, and even strangers laugh.
He loved playing basketball and was an avid fan of college basketball and the NBA, until the refs refused to call traveling. He faithfully cheered for the Missouri Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals, and Arizona Cardinals.
He enjoyed working outdoors and keeping his property "neat and tidy." He also spent time in worship, both the Son and the Sun.
A memorial service will be held in Catalina, Arizona, where Truman had lived since 2018 and was active in his local church community.
He will be remembered for his intellect, humor, dedication to family, strong work ethic, steadfast faith, and thoughtful spirit.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Catalina in Catalina, AZ on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 11:00am.
