Vera Kathleen "Kassie" Pogue was born to James Harley Moyers and Stella Mae Combs Moyers on November 4, 1929 at Marquand, MO and passed away on September 15, 2017 at the Stockhoff Nursing Home in Fredericktown, MO. She leaves behind a great number of friends and relatives to mourn her passing.

On December 5, 1945, Kassie married Darrell Pogue. From this union came three children:  Sandy Cheek who resides in Bloomfield, MO with her husband Jerry; Steve Pogue who resides in Poplar Bluff, MO with his wife Judy; and Elaine Berry who resides in Fredericktown, MO and with her husband Alfred.

Kassie leaves behind two sisters: Margie Deck of Marble Hill, MO and Fern Owens of Park Hills, MO.  One sister and a brother preceded Kassie in death:  Pauline Shaw of Marquand, MO and Burl Moyers of East Alton, IL.

Kassie leaves behind 4 grandchildren – Mindy Stevens, Matthew Pogue, Amanda Pogue, and Katelyn Pogue; 5 great-grandchildren – Dylan Hovis, Dustin Hovis, Kyle Pogue, Lyla Farris, and Wyatt Farris; and one great-great-grandchild – ­­­Easton Hovis.

Kassie assisted Darrell for over 40 years as he worked in the ministry. She also worked for many years in the food service industry and made numerous friends and acquaintances.  She also made new friends during her brief stay at Stockhoff Nursing Home in the Madison Medical Center.

Kassie was the center of the family at get-togethers and enjoyed sending a card to commemorate a birthday or a special occasion to numerous people. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.  Anyone who knew her, knew not to call her during a Cardinals baseball game.

She will be missed greatly by all her family and friends.
