Virginia Marie Mattingly was born July 24, 1924 at Fredericktown the daughter of Mamie & Earl Peterman and passed away on November 13, 2018 at Stockhoff Nursing Home in Fredericktown at the age of 94 years.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph R. (P.I.) Mattingly, whom she married on August 2, 1945 at Fredericktown. She was also preceded in death by One (1) son Ronald Joseph Mattingly.

Marie is survived by One (1) son Michael David (Christy) Mattingly of Fredericktown, daughter-in-law Pam Mattingly-Remter of Appleton, WI. Four (4) grandchildren Joey (Krista) Mattingly, Mark (Judy) Mattingly, Tammy (T J) Morstadt & Tisha (David) Lord. Nine )9) great grandchildren Hayley Mattingly, Taylor Mattingly, Shelbie Mattingly, Shane Mattingly, Sean Steffens, Natalie Starr, Emily Lord, Bradley Lord & Charlie Lord. Two (2) great great grandchildren Libby Starr & Ambriella Mattingly.

Marie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, she was Circuit Clerk & Recorder of Deeds for 30 years for Madison County. She loved taking care of her family.
