Wilbur Stanley Hartsell, 97, of Vandalia, Missouri, formerly of Montgomery City, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at Audrain Medical Center in Mexico Missouri.
Mr. Hartsell was born in Elvins, Missouri on July 18, 1914 the son of the late William B. and Anna (Stanfield) Hartsell.
He was the husband of Florence "Corky" O. (Thomas) Hartsell. They were married for nearly 72 years. They were united in marriage on March 23, 1940 at Marquand, Missouri. She survives in Vandalia.
Wilbur is also survived by a daughter Frances Hartsell of Troy, Missouri, son Wilbur Hartsell and wife Doris of Auxvasse, Missouri, daughter Charlene Yake and husband Wayne of Port Huron, Michigan, daugher Mary Bufford and husband Kirk of Louisiana, Missouri, daughter Dorothy Cochron of Lawton, Oklahoma, a daughter-in-law Kenya Hartsell of Vandalia, Missouri, two brothers Willard Hartsell of Westland, Michigan and Warren Hartsell of Phoenix, Arizona, a sister Fanny Lopp of Centerline, Michigan and a sister-in-law Donna Jean Hartsell of Pevely, Missouri. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sons Fred and Norman Hartsell.
Wilbur attended Calvary Assembly of God, Montgomery City, Missouri. He worked as a machinist for Heitz Machine and Die Company and was a member of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers Local 41.
