Obituary

Wilda Jean Tinnin passed away at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 surround by her girls and loved ones. Wilda was born November 27, 1927, in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the daughter of Charles and Ollie Eads. Wilda was married to the love of her life, James Charles Tinnin, in Fredericktown on October 12, 1946. Wilda was preceded in death by her husband, J.C., and parents, Charles and Ollie. Wilda is survived by one daughter, Sherrie Gibbons (Mark) and one son, Brian Tinnin (Nancy); six grandchildren, Natasha Amelunke (Jeff), Alanna Francis (Hansi), Maranda Montgomery (Jeff), Matthew Tinnin, Christopher Tinnin (Katie), and Jennifer Richards (R.J.); 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Wilda valued her family and Christian faith above all. She was member of the Higdon Christian Church where she attended women's fellowship meetings. Her church family has always been very important and supportive of her. Throughout her life, Wilda attended church and enjoyed singing and listening to gospel music. She was an integral part of raising her three granddaughters and loved keeping her great-grandchildren as long as she was able – which was well into her mid 80's. They will deeply miss her sincerity, comfort, compassion, and "granny-cookies".

Wilda retired from Brown Shoe in Fredericktown after over 25 years of service. Wilda was also an avid reader. In her later years she listened to books on tape. She particularly enjoyed mysteries, westerns, and inspirational novels. Wilda was a member of the Quest Club and had been a Boy Scout leader. Additionally, WIlda loved camping with her husband, J.C., long car rides, Scoop's ice-cream, playing cards and games with family and friends, watching Peyton Manning play football; and, her companion after J.C.'s passing, her Alley cat.

Wilda's girls want to solidify her legacy in saying…she had the beautiful, gracious, and merciful heart of a true Christian.
