William "Bill" C. Sheets, 83, of Fredericktown, died peacefully at his home with family at his side, Dec. 23, 2011. He was born June 27, 1928, in Patterson, Mo, the son of William C. and Lily (Allen) Sheets.
First married to Catherine Swope and later married Vellabelle Clements on April 29, 1967, in Lodi, Mo.
Preceded in death were his father and mother; daughter, Karen A. Sheets; brother and sister in-law, Raymond and Helen Sheets; sister and brother in-law, Myrtle and Tom St. Clair; nieces Sonya Godesky and Bessie Pruitt.
Survivors include his wife, Vellabelle Sheets of Fredericktown; son and daughter in-law, Michael W. and Lucretia Sheets, of Fredericktown; daughter and son in-law, Kathy J. (Sheets) and Eddie (Lewis) Francis, of Jackson, MO; daughter and son in-law, Shawnda R. (Sheets) and David Tinnin, of Fredericktown; grandchildren: Chastidy (Francis) Benton; Chad and Kristen Francis; Risha (Sheets) and Paul Gaines; James Sheets; Joshua Gresham; Kelcey (Gresham) and Josh Skaggs; Matthew Tinnin; Abbie Tinnin; Great Grandchildren: Luke and Brock Benton; Lily and Nora Gaines; McKenna Reas; Ella Tinnin; Gunner Skaggs; nephews: Will St. Clair; Bob Sheets; niece: Judy Woerman.
Bill gave his heart to God at the age of 13. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Fredericktown. He enjoyed his family, farming, cattle, bird hunting, watching sports, and time with friends.
Services were Dec. 28, 2011 at First Baptist Church with Reverand Robert Tebeau and Pastor Tom Johnson officiating. Burial was at Marcus Memorial in Fredericktown. Pallbearers were grandsons Chad Francis, Paul Gaines, James Sheets, Josh Gresham, Josh Skaggs, and Matthew Tinnin.


VISITATION: AFTER 5:00 P.M. WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 28, 2011 AT THE FOLLIS & SONS FUNERAL HOME.

SERVICES: 1:00 P.M. THURSDAY DECEMBER 29, 2011 AT THE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH WITH REV. BOB THEBEAU AND REV. TOM JOHNSON OFFICIATING.

INTERMENT: MARCUS MEMORIAL PARK
